As you know, I’ve decided to read for quality over quantity this year. It’s really worked well for me so far (aside from a few missteps). And what better way to express that than through this handy dandy book tag? So let’s just jump into it!
Best book you’ve read so far in 2019
The first book I read this year still reigns supreme in my heart. This book speaks to my very soul. I love it with all my heart.
Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2019
If Nevernight was a five-star read, then Godsgrave is a super five-star read. It is exceptional.
New release you haven’t read yet, but want to
I just bought it from Barnes & Noble and I’m excited to make it my next read.
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
I need it now!!!!!!!!
I was expecting to love this book as much as I love Six of Crows. Instead, it felt like a pale imitation. For more of my thoughts, check out my review.
After being let down by The Gilded Wolves, I was afraid this book would be another disappointment. But I actually really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a good Six of Crows-esque book, this is the one you should try.
Favorite new author (Debut or new to you)
And I can’t wait for her next book!
Worst book you’ve read so far in 2019
Madi from The Book Pusher added this question and I decided to add it too. Or rather, use it to replace the “fictional crush” question because I don’t really get those anymore.
As for this book, I hated it so much. I don’t want to get into it here, so check out my review if you want to know why.
Newest favorite character
I would die for her. Mia Corvere is the HBIC.
Book that made you cry
I just felt so much for these characters, I hated to see them struggle.
Book that made you happy
Wonderful M/M romance, lovable characters, great writing? Check, check, and check! Take a gander at my review for more details!
Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)
I mean, just look at that cover. I love the mosaic and the authentic vibe.
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
We’ll see if I can do it.
How has your reading year so far? Any standouts? Good or bad, let me know!
