Top 5 Wednesday: Fancasts

Hosted by the Top 5 Wednesday Goodreads Group

So, today’s Top 5 Wednesday topic is a touchy one. This week we have to give our top five favorite fancasts. Fancasts, if you’re new here, are actors or models you think look like a character and therefore “cast” as such. It’s a common practice in stan culture, but it can get really ugly. Mostly because there are some really ugly fancasts out there. Now, I’m not going to pretend I’ve never come up with a bad fancast. I’ve been sixteen and obsessed with, like, five popular actors. But I’ve gotten a lot better with my fancasts over the years. In fact, I have a few I think are really good. I’m mostly reticent to see what other people come up with. For my list, I won’t be using any fandom-accepted fancasts, such as Barbie Ferreira as Nina Zenik from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo or Toni Mahfud as Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (though I am the one who originated that fancast). These fancasts are all my own. So, let’s just get this over with.

  1. Nyane Lebajoa as Karou from the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor

What do you think of my fancasts? Do you have any fancasts you’d like to share? Let me know in the comments (and try not to be cringy)!
