Book Blogger Hop: Where I Get My Books

gracetips.co (4)

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme that runs from Friday to Thursday in which bloggers answers a book-related prompt. It’s a great way to provide some insight into yourself and introduce yourself to some great new blogs.

Short answer: no, I don’t buy all my books.

The long answer is that I buy most of my books. In fact, I have a book-buying problem. You should see my physical TBR (not including books I’ve added on Goodreads). It’s overwhelmingly long.

I keep about half and plan to get rid of the other half. I have a giant pile of books (by which I mean, six enormous stacks) in my closet that I need to unhaul. I wanted to sell them, but who knows if I ever will? I also want to donate a stack to the middle school library where my mom works. I just… haven’t yet.

The rest of my books I get as gifts or ARCs. I also occasionally go to the library. Sadly, my local library doesn’t have the widest variety. But at least it’s a brand new library that was opened last year. I really should spend some more time there.

It’s not an exciting life I lead, but at least I can use all these books to live vicariously through the exciting lives of others.

Sophie at Beware of the Reader wrote a fascinating discussion piece on the pros and cons of ARCs.

Jessica at A Great Read did the Night and Day Book Tag, which inspired me to try my own hand at it someday.

Jolene at Jo’s Book Blog has a cute feature where she reviews children’s books about dogs.
