Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Billy of Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Reader that runs from Friday to Thursday in which bloggers answer a book-related prompt. It’s a great way to provide some insight into yourself and introduce yourself to some great new blogs.
Would you consider giving out books to trick-or-treaters instead of candy?
Absolutely not.
First of all, trick-or-treaters want one thing and one thing only: candy. Not raisins, not dental floss, not any other non-candy item I’ve seen given to kids on Halloween. No matter how big a bookworm a trick-or-treater might be, they’re out that night for candy.
Secondly, books are expensive. I don’t have the kind of dough to buy enough books for all the kids in my neighborhood. Do I have a lot of books that I plan on donating/selling? Yes. Are they kid-friendly? No. So, not only is it not what kids want, it’s not a feasible plan.
It’s a lovely idea and something I might enjoy as a book-loving adult. But as it stands, I’m not about to get my house egged.
What about you? Would you consider giving this a try? Let’s discuss in the comments!
