Hey, so, crazy how I went on hiatus in 2022, randomly popped up a year later with a rant review and then disappeared again for more two years. I know what you’re thinking, “Damn, I forgot about this bitch!”

So, where have I been? What have I been up to? Well, you may recall (but probably not) from a previous post that I got a job as an instructional assistant/paraprofessional back in 2021. Not only am I still at that job, but I’m almost finished getting my teaching certification and Master’s degree in special education. Woot woot!

The past couple summers, when school’s been out, I’ve been working at the local Crocs store. Fun fact: I used to be a Crocs hater! Now I’m a big fan and own a ridiculous number of pairs (but still not as many as my sister).

At some point after going on hiatus, my sister and I adopted two cats. They’re brothers named Finn and Oliver. Below, you will find the obligatory Cat Tax (Please ignore the overflowing drawers in the background. They have since been organized).

I’ve also gotten really, absurdly into Smosh. It’s been my hyperfixation for two years, so it’s taken up most of my remaining brain space. How ’bout them Smosh Summer Games?

What else have I been watching? Well, I finally watched Yellowjackets this year and I’m OBSESSED! I need season four expeditiously. Speaking of Ella Purnell, I really enjoyed Fallout too. I’m currently watching Fate/Zero and am liking it. Also, last year I was really into Agatha All Along and Helluva Boss. And, of course, WICKED!!!!! And I’m so excited for Wicked: For Good!

As for music, I’m super into Chappell Roan and Renee Rapp now. And Ethel Cain (who I’m seeing in concert next week). I had a Bad Omens phase. I’ve been getting more into rap, especially artists like Doechii, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler, the Creator. So, uh, that’s been neat.

On the health front, I was diagnosed with PCOS. That explained a whole lot. I’m not overly concerned about it, though. I am getting an ultrasound soon to check on any cysts in my ovaries which I’m nervous about but… fuck it, we ball!

Well, I think that about sums up my adventures. Except, of course, for all the books I’ve read. And this is a book blog. So now you’re probably wondering… am I coming back? And, I think, yes?

Look, I got a new laptop that I’m really excited to use and I need a reason to use it. And I was reading a bunch of my old posts and kind of miss sharing my thoughts with the world in long form. I’m a different person now than I was back then. Older, wiser… more annoying, but in a fun way. I don’t know that I’ll post with any consistency, but I’d like to share my thoughts about books again instead of monologuing in my head and pretending I’m making a TikTok or YouTube video.
