A to Z Book Tag

Hahahahahaha! I must love torturing myself. I mean, look at this tag. It’s impossible! What the hell?! But, I’m bored, so I’m going to do it anyway. Get on my level.

  • Author You’ve Read the Most Books From

That would have to be Cassandra Clare. I’ve read every single book from the Shadowhunter Chronicles saga, including the novella bind-ups and Codex. I’ve also read the first book in the Magisterium series that she co-writes with Holly Black. And the extras she releases online. And her fucking tweets. That lady’s got me whipped.

  • Best Sequel

Ever? I don’t fucking know. I guess I’ll pick A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir because I liked it better than the first book and it made me actually like Laia.

  • Current Read

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard and Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd. I’m alternating.

  • Drink of Choice While Reading

Uh, water? Sometimes an orange crush? I don’t really keep a beverage with me while I read.

  • E-reader or Physical Book

Physical books all day, every day.

  • Fictional Character You Would Have Dated in High School

Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. I even wrote joke fanfiction that I did. It was not healthy.

  • Glad You Gave This Book a Chance

The Lightning-Struck Heart by TJ Klune because it has given me so much joy.

  • Hidden Gem Book

Hunted by Meagan Spooner aka the best “Beauty & the Beast” retelling I’ve ever read.

  • Important Moment in Reading Life

In the first grade, we had a dot system that tracked our reading level. Red dot was the first, then blue dot, green dot, black dot, and so on. I was the only one in my class to go right to green dot. I’m weirdly still proud of this, even though I’m almost a quarter century old.

  • Just Finished

The Merciless III: Origins of Evil by Danielle Vega. It was all right.

  • Kinds of Books You Won’t Read

Dime store romances, most New Adult romances, and most erotica.

  • Longest Book You’ve Read

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, clocking in at a whopping 720 pages.

  • Major Book Hangover Because Of

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas gave me such a book hangover the first time I read it.

  • Number of Bookcases You Own

Technically, one. But I’ve also been using a CD case as a book case, as well as one of my closet shelves.

  • One Book You’ve Read Multiple Times

Harry Potter. I read it so much, my original copies are in tatters. Luckily, I got new ones.

  • Preferred Place to Read

My bed.

  • Quote that Gives You Life

“Men may be stronger, but it is women who endure.” –Tessa Gray

  • Reading Regret

Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay because it sounded good but actually sucked. And I read it during the year I refused to DNF, so I had to endure the whole thing.

  • Series You Have Started But Need to Finish

The Madman’s Daughter trilogy by Megan Shepherd, the Ren Crown series by Anne Zoelle, and the Magisterium series by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare.

  • Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books

I’ll list three of my all-time favorite series because I don’t read too many standalones. Anyway, those are the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor, the Shades of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab, and the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.

  • Unapologetic Fangirl For

The Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. Because yes.

  • Very Excited For This Release

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson. It sounds so good.

  • Worst Reading Habit

Starting a book and then deciding I want to read a different one and then picking up a different one instead and then my Currently Reading list on Goodreads has, like, ten open books because I keep pausing books to read other books.

  • X Marks the Spot–Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book

Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, and Robin Wasserman.

  • Your Latest Book Purchase

The Merciless series by Danielle Vega and Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick.

  • ZZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late)

The Merciless by Danielle Vega. I stayed up until two a.m. on a work night because I just had to finish it.

Okay, so that wasn’t has hard as I thought. I’m a little disappointed. I was hoping for a time-waster challenge. Ah, well.
