Book Blogger Hop: My Bookshelf

Blog Updates

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Billy of Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Reader that runs from Friday to Thursday in which bloggers answer a book-related prompt. It’s a great way to provide some insight into yourself and introduce yourself to some great new blogs.

Share a photo of one section of your bookshelf randomly selected or go ahead and share the entire bookshelf.

Well, here she is:

This is the only remaining intact bookshelf in my room. Why? Well, as I’ve been saying so much it’s probably started to annoy you, I was supposed to move when all this COVID-19 stuff started to get really bad here in the States. It was literally the day before I was set to move when I decided to postpone.

Therefore, most of my books are currently in boxes. This particular shelf was previously responsible for holding my favorite books. In fact, most of the books on this shelf I still consider favorites. However, every book from The Shadowglass on is one of the few unread books I have with me right now.

Because you want to know the most ironic part in all of this? I decided to leave most of my books behind to be shipped to me later, after I’d settled into a place of my own. With one critical exception— I shipped most of my unread books ahead of me with my car. I thought I was being smart, but instead I played myself.

But before all this happened, I had three shelves and only one of which was built for books. I converted a CD case and one of my closet shelves into extra shelf space. After my grandma moved out, I called dibs on her bookshelf. So then I had four.

I can’t wait until I get my own place and can get myself some nice, big bookshelves. Someday all my books will have a place on an actual bookshelf. I don’t know when this will be, but hopefully before 2020 is out. As long as everyone stays home and we get this virus under control. Then I can finally live my bookish dreams.

What does your bookshelf look like? How do you organize it? Let’s discuss in the comments!

    1. This particular shelf is the only one I haven’t rearranged much. My other shelves have gone through several reorganizations based on whether I’ve read a book yet and where I have space lol. For me grouping by series/author helps me keep track of my books. Otherwise, I’d be confused all the time lol!
